I received this very high quality build from a customer to sell on consignment and we are trying to identify the builder. All I can make out is Modellissimo. Does anyone recognize this signature? Very impressive work whoever it is!

Despite other comments, I stand by my opinion on this model, it is very well done and I would be happy to have it in my collection. |

Might be Mike Schmitt? Some of the other AMR based models from this same collector were built by him, the signature might be Michael Schmitt? I will ask Ron if that might be the case. Good point on the steering wheel David. |

It doesn't look anything special. For example the paint coat is way too thick, and the wooden steering wheel is wrong on a Group 4 car of the 70s. |

The shop 'Modellissimo' was based in Hameln/Germany, later it moved to Wolfsburg and was called 'Modellissimo in casa'.
Owner of the modelcar-shop was Uwe Klimasch. As far as I know the shop does not exist anymore.
I bought a lot of BBR-models from Uwe in the 1990s.
He had also One-Man-Factory, AMR and other handbuilts in his shop for sale.
He told me that he had a builder who build AMRs for his shop/customers. Unfortunatley I can't remember the name of the builder. I think he was based in Hannover/Germany. But I'm not sure.
The german shop Modellissimo that you can currently find in the web is a different shop who deals mainly with diecast, and is based in Muenster.
Perhaps Gerd Brandt knows the builder? |

The name of the German shop is Modelissimo, while there's Modellissimo written under the model. |

There is a store in Germany called Modellisimo, but they have only been going since 2001. They are primarily die cast, though. Also, they are not in Hameln, as far as I can tell.
But, who knows... Hopefully some of our German member can shed some light.

"Hameln" is a town in Germany, so I guess the direction to look at is that country. Maybe Wolfgang knows a store Modellissimo which used to be there... |
