Based on the Esprit43 kit, James will make a 1964 GTO Long Nose. I hope Mike Craig does not see the 4th photo. :-) Kidding aside, I am sure Mike will appreciate the process as much as his late Father-In-Law. Mike Craig and James Wood have actually collaborated on projects together before, James' GTO Roadster was the inspiration for Mike's GTO Speedster.

By the second model I created using a Ferrari casting I recognized the similarities between the Ferraris of the late fifties through the mid sixties and the C3 Corvette. It was obvious to me the design department at Chevrolet had taken liberties with Ferrari design cues.

Once I enlarge the fenders to accept the wider tires the comparisons are unavoidable. Fortunatly the Corvette was not unattractive.

For a future build I am considering taking design cues from a 1978 Toyota Corolla. That way people can enjoy seeing it on the "Current Inventory" page for months and months. :-)

A cunning promotional plan - I like it! :o)

Slightly off topic here, James, sorry, but can you perform this sort of magic with a resin bodyshell? I have something quite specific in mind for you, but am not having a lot of luck sourcing the elusive AMR kit, whereas it is possible I could lay hands on a Tecnomodel one instead...

Funny the Corvette comparisons are back, I just happen to have an AMR kit for the 1986 Corvette Ref.000475. Maybe a future project for James? He could transform it with Ferrari influences. I was going to list it on the site this week.

The white stripe across the hood is not an homage to the scuba divers of the world, but a nod to s/n 5571 GT in its '64 Le Mans livery.

You should add a snorkel for river cross mode. Bad scuba pun.

Hey..I like that idea...it could pop up out of the radiator 'D' flap!
[I'm breathing too many paint fumes, sorry]
